General Auditions to be held Sunday, September 14th from 12:00pm - 5:00pm.
Callbacks will be scheduled by invitation on Sunday, September 21st.
Prepare a monologue no more than 2 minutes in length from a Jane Austen play/novel, or a monologue that is classical
Bring one physical copy of your headshot and resume.
In-person auditions are encouraged, but YouTube & Vimeo submissions may be sent to casting@okshakes.org. Please include headshot & resume with email.

Jane Austen’s Christmas Cracker

Rehearsals begin November 10th and will take place on weeknights and weekend days. There will be a break for Thanksgiving.
Performances run December 4th through December 21 Thursday through Saturday evenings, and Sunday matinees.
Actors will be paid a stipend.

CASTING BREAKDOWN
General requirements: Actors will be asked to sing carols, dance in traditional Regency period style, engage with the audience, play improv games and generally participate in the merriment of the season!
Miss Jane Austen, early/mid-twenties, outgoing and optimistic, co-host for the evening’s activities with her sister Cassandra.
Miss Cassandra Austen, mid/late twenties, the older and more pragmatic sister, co-host for the evening’s activities with her sister Jane.
Mrs. Bennet (from Pride & Prejudice), forties - fifties, talkative, good-natured, a “busy-body,” and genuinely concerned about her daughter’s placement in society… if not a bit overbearing. (THE ROLE OF MRS. BENNET HAS BEEN CAST)
Miss Elizabeth Bennet (from Pride & Prejudice), early twenties, thoughtful, assertive, and perhaps a bit proud.
Miss Lydia Bennet (from Pride and Prejudice), late teens, flirty and silly, loves to have fun.
Miss Marianne Dashwood (from Sense and Sensibility), late teens/early twenties, younger sister, lively & impulsive, emotional & clever.
Miss Elinor Dashwood (from Sense and Sensibility), early twenties, older sister, reserved and thoughtful, cautious, and sincere.
Miss Anne Elliot (from Persuasion), late twenties/early thirties, intelligent and discerning, practical, and capable.
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy (from Pride and Prejudice) late twenties/early thirties, intelligent and brooding, wealthy and proper, doesn’t always say the right thing.
Mr. Edward Ferrars (from Sense and Sensibility), mid/late twenties, kind, good, and sensible, with a pensive nature.
Colonel Brandon (from Sense and Sensibility) thirties, quiet and sensible, dignified and well to do.
Captain Wentworth (from Persuasion), thirties, honorable and gregarious, gentlemanly with lively good humor.
