GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION

Bring one headshot & résumé per production for which you are auditioning.

All auditions must be completed in person.

All roles receive a fixed stipend in recognition of the time and work involved. Stipends are set in advance, not negotiable, and are intended to support participation in the production; they do not constitute wages or an employment relationship.

General Requirements

Actors will be asked to sing carols, dance in traditional Regency period style, engage with the audience, play improv games and generally participate in the merriment of the season!

What to Prepare

Auditions: SATURDAY, September 12 - please present a brief classical or modern monologue -RP accent, a plus

Invited Callbacks: MONDAY, September 14 – please be prepared to cold read from the play; you may be asked to sing

Rehearsals run throughout November and will take place on weeknights and weekend days.

Performances run December 3rd through December 20th Thursday through Saturday evenings, and Sunday matinees.

The popular staged reading (performed spring 2026) will be fully produced by Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, February 2027, in the indoor Studio Theatre.

General Requirements

Actors will be asked to perform Regency era dances; some singing, and possibly stage combat.

Head-strong, blunt, rich beauty, who has a taste for partying, Regency-style

Countess of Carnarvon (Elizabeth Alicia Maria), 58 years old

Lady of the house, whose superior knowledge of courtship and decorum is always made known

Lady Charlotte/Aunt Charlotte, 66 years old

Double cast with Lady C, this character is a blunt, fast-talking gambler

Debutante/Maid, 20s

Lord Henry Herbert, 3rd Earl of Carnarvon, 69 years old

A hunter and sports enthusiast; a cross between Ron Swanson and Teddy Roosevelt

Mr. Snodgrass, a Butler, 60s

Footman/Gentleman, 20s
