The Shakespeare Gardens Stage

Our primary outdoor venue, located on the east side of our campus. Guests enter through the main doors on the west side of the building, directly across from Paseo Grill in the heart of the Paseo Arts District.

The Shakespeare Gardens Stage is a landscaped, open‑air performance space ideal for summer productions and special events, with seating for 200 guests. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, low chairs, and picnics.

The Indoor Venue

Located inside the main building and accessible through the same west‑side entrance, our intimate indoor venue seats 57 guests. This flexible black‑box space supports rehearsals, staged readings, education programs, and select performances throughout the year.

The Mermaid Tavern

Tucked just inside our main entrance, The Mermaid Tavern is a cozy, welcoming spot to gather before the show — a place to “crush a cup of wine” with friends, castmates, and fellow theatre lovers. Inspired by the convivial spirit of Shakespeare’s own tavern culture, it’s designed for conversation, connection, and a little pre‑show magic.

The Tavern opens one hour before every performance and offers a full bar, including wine, beer, cocktails, and a selection of non‑alcoholic and kid‑friendly drinks. Light packaged snacks are available, along with a small gift shop featuring OSP merchandise and locally crafted items.

With plenty of seating and a warm, intimate atmosphere, The Mermaid Tavern is the perfect place to start your evening at Oklahoma Shakespeare.

Parking & Arrival

Parking in the Paseo Arts District is limited but mostly free, with one paid lot nearby. We encourage guests to arrive early and enjoy the district’s shops and restaurants before the show. You can also stop into The Mermaid Tavern for a pre‑show refreshment — alcoholic and non‑alcoholic options available.

Policies for All Venues

To maintain a safe, comfortable, and high‑quality experience for all guests:

• Outside beverages and beverage containers are not permitted anywhere on our campus. Drinks purchased from The Mermaid Tavern may be enjoyed in both venues.

• Late seating is not available due to the intimacy of our performance spaces. Please plan to arrive with enough time to park, check in, and be seated before the performance begins.
